Our Peruvian Independence Day event is packed with fun for the whole family, featuring live music by Gino Gamboa and his band, exciting vendor booths, and a mouthwatering Peruvian menu.

Feast on traditional delights like Chicha morada, Maracuyá, Yuca frita con Huancaina y criolla, Peruvian ceviche, Causa de camarones, Pan con chicharrón, Arroz con pollo, Ají de Gallina, Tallarines a la huancaina con saltado de pollo, Lomo Saltado, Alfajores, Flan de coco, and Helado de lucuma.

Natalie Wattre is an accomplished Singer/Songwriter and cover artist from Southern California. She began singing and writing simple melodies at the age of 3. But her professional career kicked off in1989 where she was instrumental in forming the Los Angeles-based band The Extinct.

In early 1997 Natalie decided that it was time to explore her own musical universe and left the Extinct. Backed by seasoned musicians she formed the Natalie Wattré Band where her songwriting talent and her wide range of vocal styles, which vary from throaty and harsh to soft and soothing, were showcased. Natalie’s songwriting style ranges from folk to alternative, with an intense emotional impact that comes straight from the heart.

Fabian has performed live with dozens of renowned acts, such as the legendary Gypsy Kings, The Phil Woods Big Band, The Miami Sound Machine, Felix Pastorius, Kenny Aronoff, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, and Vinnie Colaiuta among many others. He has entertained audiences from the decks of Mediterranean cruises to the Playboy Mansion.

Gino is a master of percussion on all levels, especially focusing on teaching and fabricating the Peruvian “CAJON.” Gino was one of the musicians of a Peruvian delegation that participated in the inauguration for the Seoul 88 Olympic Games. He has performed as a singer and percussionist in different recordings for musical groups like: Peru Negro, Eva Ayllon, Los Hijos Del Sol, Tolu, Conjunto Jardin, Inca the Peruvian Ensemble, among many more.

Mary Gallagher performs her girl-next-door stand-up comedy in comedy clubs and theaters across the country. She’s been on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Dry Bar comedy, Amazon Prime’s Laugh After Dark, and just recorded her first comedy album. She on seasons one and two of Prank Encounters streaming on Netflix and her other TV credits include hit shows like Friends, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, and How I Met Your Mother, to name just a few. Originally from Wisconsin, Mary graduated from Chicago’s Second City and now lives in Los Angeles, where she teaches stand-up comedy and cartooning workshops.

Cat Alvarado is an award winning comedian who tours across the US. Cat Alvarado premiered her new hour at the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival to rave reviews and won a coveted Producer’s Encore Award. She also was a featured comedian at the 2022 Great American Comedy Festival. In May 2023, she released her debut comedy album, Off-White, with Blonde Medicine records. You can hear it on Apple Music, Spotify, and Sirius XM. She has also been on Buzzfeed's Tasty channel, the PBS show First Nations Comedy Experience and on Hot in Hollywood.

Anthony Amorello is a blue collar comedian who grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts. His career started in Boston but has taken him all over the country for the last 7 years. He’s regular at Magic Asphalt Comedy, also regularly featured at The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, as well as all LA comedy clubs and shows! This class includes everything you need to make a kokedama. Cost includes all materials, plants, breakfast pastries & coffee.

Kokedama, Japanese for ‘moss ball’, is considered a modern form of bonsai in which a plant’s roots are surrounded in soil, covered in moss and then tied together with string. These ‘pot-less’ plants look beautiful sitting on a dish or suspended from a string. They are the perfect combination of nature and art. Start a Kokedama garden or give them as a unique gift.

You will begin by selecting your plants from Tierra Mia’s plant selection, then we will discuss soil requirements, mosses and different types of string as we create our own unique Kokedama.

Taught by Tie Gutierrez, a local plant shop owner and creative with a background in gardening/ plant design, who loves sharing her enthusiasm for all things planty, meeting new friends and spending time in community.

Conte proved himself versatile musically, and by 1973, he was playing regularly in local clubs. He quickly became a busy studio musician, and throughout the 1970s, he played in the Latin fusion band Caldera. Recently, Conte has toured as part of James Taylor's "Band of Legends." He has also played alongside such famed musicians as Alex Acuña, Jaguares, Larry Klimas, and David Garfield, both as a bandleader and a sideman.

In his home country of Cuba, San Miguel Perez is known as “El Tresero Moderno” (The Modern Tresero). An exceptional musician, he is considered one of the best tres and guitar players in Cuba and received a Cubadisco Award in 2011 for Best Tresero and in 2014 for Best Música Tradicional Cubana. He now resides in Los Angeles, and most recently has been writing, playing and recording with Peruvian born singer-producer Cecilia Noël and with Grammy award winning artist Colin Hay (Men at Work).
